Introduction
Meethi Eid 2025 has come and gone ever so quickly, leaving us with wonderful memories, tearful moments for those who have left us,
joyful tiredness, cravings for samosas and pakoras and of course a messed-up routine!
Returning to normal life can be a challenge, from a disturbed sleeping pattern to sehri time hunger pangs.
So, I have put together a short blog with a few tips on how to get back into a routine!
Keeping in mind, as much as we want to get back into a normal routine again, if this Ramadan did bring you closer to God and you’ve started to offer your salahs regularly, then good on you! And make sure to keep up with this new habit!
So, where were we? Oh yes!
After the celebrations, here is how to properly rest and restore equilibrium.
Returning to a sleep schedule
Late-night prayers and sehri wake-ups during Ramadan do disrupt our sleep patterns.
And to get back to a good routine, one must –
• Establish a set bedtime – sleeping and waking at the same hour.
• Steer clear of nighttime coffee, as it can disrupt deep sleep.
• Avoid extended daytime sleeping; this is just a difficult one right after Eid, as I’m finding it difficult to even write this blog due to sleepiness but a brief 20-minute nap is acceptable.
• Sunlight exposure helps to control the body’s natural clock.

Recovering from Post-Eid Fatigue
Nonstop mingling, cooking, and eating make Eid festivities physically taxing.
Here is how to recuperate –
• Keep hydrated! Water helps remove extra salt and sugar from the body and gets rid of any toxins.
• A little stroll or mild stretching can help to lower lethargy.
• Have balanced meals! Rather than depending on sweets, include protein, fiber, and good fats.
• And resting!
Rest comes first, let your body heal and take little pauses.
Feeling Hungry at sehri time? But isn't Ramadan over?
Our body can still want a pre-dawn meal even after Ramadan.
So to control these desires –
• Have protein-rich dinners, such as, yogurt, lentils, eggs, fish, and chicken.
• These foods keep you satisfied longer.
• Cut back on sugar! Too many Eid sweets could trigger blood sugar surges and falls.
• Stay hydrated! Sometimes, thirst is confused for hunger.
• Distract yourself!
• Take up early morning activities to change your attention from hunger.
Conclusion
Hoping you all had a blessed and spiritually exhilarating month that has left you energized, mentally and physically, bought you closer to God and have created deeper connections with yourself, (most importantly) family and friends.
