It’s all about getting together friends and family for a grand feast but also decorating our homes to make it all the more welcoming for guests and to keep us in the festive spirit too!

• Fabric and Paper DIY Decorations
Without much work, handmade paper chains, fabric bunting, and even your mum’s, sister’s, or bhabi’s old colorful dupattas are excellent for using as decor. Create basic yet striking decorations with what you already have at home.
• Candles and fairy lights
These happen to be my absolute favorite! Stringing lights on the stairway or windows creates a beautiful ambiance.
And for a warm, inviting atmosphere, use traditional lanterns or aromatic or floating candles spread on tables or window sills, being extra careful to keep curtains out of the way.
• Greenery and Fresh Flowers
Why not get yourself flowers? “Wink wink”
Flowers give your home genuine charm. For long-term use, you may use even artificial ones or locally accessible fresh flowers.
South Asian roses smell absolutely divine and yellow marigolds are also a favorite in this region and are easily available.

A major component of the festivities is Eid dinners.
Enhance your dining experience with folded napkins, beautiful serving plates, and vibrant table runners.
Use floating candles in dishes with scattered rose petals and take their dinner experience to the next level.
• Eid Banners or Islamic Calligraphy
Making Eid banners is probably the easiest, as you can get kids involved too (if you have any).
Cut out stars and crescents from silver and gold paper or even pastel shades and string them up, or go to the Sunday markets and you can pick up some great Islamic calligraphy art pieces, which would give a very majestic look to your Eid setup.
• Favour Boxes or cellophane cones
These are pretty much popular on all occasions, weddings, birthdays, nikkah ceremonies etc etc.
You can find inexpensive favour boxes on online businesses or make cellophane cones yourself and fill them up with your favorite sweets or make personalised mini muffins for each guest with their names added with chocolate chips, bunties or piped on.
All these inexpensive decorative ideas will make your Eid celebrations memorable and would be easy on the pocket too.
