Frequently Asked Questions about Valentine’s Day Dinner Date at Home
Are the ingredients mentioned in blog easily available in Pakistan for the continental dishes?
Absolutely, you can easily find these ingredients in Al Fatah, (my favorite place to shop), Jalalsons, and maybe at some of the larger Imtiaz stores.
Is it true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach?
It’s a generalized statement and isn’t true for all; however, men do love a good home-cooked meal (well, mine does). It does show them that they’re cared for and loved; hence we put time and effort into the food we cook for them.
Can strawberries be coated in white or dark chocolate, and can we use sliced bananas too?
Of course you can; it’s good to experiment.
What is jasmine rice?
It’s a long-grain rice, also known as Thai fragrant rice; when cooked, it becomes very sticky and soft.
For biryani, which rice is best to use, sella or basmati?
I personally prefer basmati rice only. They are aromatic and delicate but can easily overcook, so one has to be extra vigilant when using basmati.
Sella, on the other hand, I feel is a lot easier to handle whilst cooking, as they don’t overcook easily like basmati does, but I feel they don’t absorb flavors as well as basmati but do remain firm – somewhat plasticky.
