January 2025: Why Did This Month Feel Like a Whole Year?

January 2025: The Month That Felt Like a Year

January 2025 strutted into our lives like a bossy office manager on a caffeine high. It wasn’t just a month, it was the month that refused to end. By January 5th, people were already whispering,

“Why does it still feel like January 2025?!”

The drama began on January 1st. New Year’s resolutions were scribbled down with the enthusiasm of a toddler high on sugar.

“This is MY year!” everyone screamed.

By January 2nd, gym parking lots were battle zones, and saag (mustard greens) sales had skyrocketed. But by January 5th, half the population was already stress-eating leftover holiday cookies.

January 2025 wasn’t satisfied with just making people tired. Oh no, it went above and beyond. On January 10th, a massive cold wave hit, freezing everything except everyone’s Wi-Fi.

“Work from home!” chirped bosses cheerfully!

Mother’s on WhatsApp groups!

“Will schools be back open tomorrow?”

Ignoring the fact that kids were sliding down staircases on couch cushions while pets knocked over mugs of hot cocoa. Tsk tsk, poor mothers.

By January 15th, the month had developed an odd sense of humour. People started saying things like,

“This feels like January 74th.”

Even the calendar gave up. Someone in the office asked,

“Is it still January 2025, or have we moved on to February’s early access trial?”

January 2025 didn’t stop there. It dragged on like a Netflix series with too many filler episodes. By January 20th, everyone was exhausted, but the month wasn’t done.

“Here’s a surprise cold,” it cackled, covid, influenza, flu type A to Z, and God knows what. Germs spreading like confetti, people were coughing, sneezing, and groaning.

“January 2025, please, I surrender.”

January 2025: The Month That Felt Like a Year

Finally, January 31st arrived. People gathered in their living rooms to watch the clock strike midnight, not to celebrate February, but to ensure that January 2025 didn’t pull any tricks and add a secret 32nd day. When the calendar finally flipped, the collective sigh of relief could’ve powered a small wind farm.

As February loomed just a day away, people glanced at their calendars with exhaustion.

“Remember how January 2025 felt like a year?”

someone joked, their relief palpable.

Tomorrow, February would finally take over, but for now, they’d quietly celebrate surviving the longest month ever, nervously aware that January 2026 was already lurking just 11 months away.
