The children were playing in the school yard and giggling on a bright and lovely Monday morning. Happy times for the kids were filled with playing, running, and jumping. They had a strong bond.
While they frequently played cricket together, on this particular day they were unable to determine the batting order.
“I’ll go first!” Ravi shouted, “I won the toss yesterday!” squashed the bat in one motion.
“No, it’s my turn!” “You always take the first chance,” Arjun said, swinging the bat.
They began to shove each other as the cries grew louder, and no one dared to intervene. When the other youngsters arrived, they were shocked to see their buddies fighting.
At that very moment, their instructor, Mrs. Meera, hurried over. She appeared enraged as she shoved them apart.
With an angry tone, she demanded, “Is this how best friends act?” Feeling terrible about their actions, the two guys cast a pitying glance downward.
“Getting into a quarrel never gets anything done,” she continued. Interacting verbally, listening carefully, and sharing knowledge all have favorable outcomes. I want to know if you were more interested in the game than your pal.
It appeared that Arjun and Ravi were making decisions. It was becoming quite absurd how they were arguing. They shook hands and said they were sorry to each other. In the future, they decided to disconnect.
The game continued even though it seemed like everyone was laughing more than they were becoming irritated.
What we learned is that teamwork is more significant than victory. While conflict can undoubtedly drive people apart, kindness, patience, and generosity can truly help bring people back together.
